Re: Online Play/Logo
The infinity symbol looks like an eight on its side. It was a simple matter to overlap them to create a symmetrical symbol. It's just been squared off and made a little more abstract.

Re: Online Play/Logo
I see it. My original logo for EverBlade had the Lemniscate intersected by a sword. A very obvious logo. My logo for Tetragon comics has six letter Ts forming a cube.
Re: Online Play/Logo
Wow, I must admit, I really like the Infinity Eight idea. Very clever as far as the logo goes as well!
I mean, how many game companies are out there that just have random names?
i.e. - Bungie, Crytek, Day 1, Big Huge Games, First Star, Gray Matter, etc.

It's all about image, really. Project N00b is descriptive and accurate, since we are a group of amateurs. But is that the image we want to convey? If it is, I'm fine with that, but I still think we need a logo, if not necessarily mine.

Re: Online Play/Logo
The way I see Project N00b as of right now is more of a placeholder or codename, if you will. You know how most companies have call names for their projects which have not been released yet? I see it as something like that. Eventually, we will have to do something to look a little more professional and coordinated.
Re: Online Play/Logo
I think the logo works especially well with the EverBlade name (which is currently only being used by an unfinanced website where people put their Armored Core models on display.) Just so you know, I came up with EverBlade long before I ever found it on the internet. I was sorely disheartened to learn that it was being used by an AC website... how does the name even fit the site's subject?
Anyway... Project N00B is a fine name to use for us as a starter company. We can change the name later when we start to grow. Plenty of other smaller companies had weirder names and, based on mergers and changes in employment, changed titles to become the publishing giants we all know and, to some extent, love to this day. Did you know Enix was a play on the words Phoenix and ENIAC? I didn't even know what ENIAC was.
The simplest process of finding a name is checking our background and/or finding the one attribute that makes us not necessarily unique but more importantly what makes us significant.
By the way... I don't want to hear any of the following statements from anyone or else they are no longer welcome on the project:
"We can't make it..." "It's impossible..." "We're out of time..." "I quit..." or any other negative statement about our capabilities as a group.
This is the philosophy of success: "If you don't believe in yourself, you've already lost." It's a philosophy shared by pretty much every great artist whether in painting, writing for books/games/movies, or by craftsmen and even sportsmen and armies.
Negative feedback should be an attribute of criticism and no one in this group is allowed to critique themselves. Furthermore, no one is allowed to apologize... unless they're a traitor who stabs the rest of us in the back and tries to make money off this project on their own. In that case, an apology is the least that is owed to us.

I completely agree with everything said here. Being one of the Project's organizers, I stamp it with my full approval as well. Everyone should know that this is a side project and something that we do out of the love for games and a desire to use our creativity for other's enjoyment. Sure, some sort of profit may be made later on, but not without a unanimous decision by all the team members.
Once again, well put Mercen-X.
Re: Online Play/Logo
Sorry. I was watching this thing on G4 and I heard some director saying it as part of his advice for amateurs.
I found another place Everblade is used. It's a hockey team.

Re: Online Play/Logo
So is that the name you want to put on the website? Infinity Eight? But when we shorten it (because we're lazy) it'll be IE... like Internet Explorer XD
Re: Online Play/Logo
Somewhere I think it was Mercen-X mentioned Infin8 Entertainment or something like that. Which, personally, I really like.
Re: Online Play/Logo
Wouldn't you pronounce that is Infineight? I like Infinite Eight Entertainment

Re: Online Play/Logo
Ya, it would be pronounced that way, but it is sort of a play on words, ya know? Perhaps we should put a poll up!
Re: Online Play/Logo
We could shorten it to I8 either way. Then we'd be asked "I8" what? Then we'd say "I8 everything on the menu!"
Re: Online Play/Logo
When I came up with the logo, I read it as Infinity Eight; but any combination of Infinite and Eight is okay with me.

How does this look:
Also where did they 8 come from? Did 8 people start this project?

Re: Online Play/Logo
Well, it began with something that BG brought up. Don't remember the exact story but we were brainstorming and he had a logo thought up already and thought of a name that would go with it and it has just stuck then.
I like the banner and logo though!
Would look good on a business card!

BG-57 wrote:A stylized symbol that combines infinity and eight. I had an OC character that had this name and symbol, but it would make a cool corporate logo.
A more complete story would be I watched too much Bubblegum Crisis and I liked the designs of the armored suits the heroines wore, so I came up with my own version. I was doodling around for a logo on the armor and I crossed an eight and infinity; it created a nice symmetrical image that I then stylized by 'squaring' the edges.
The banner looks nice.

Re: Online Play/Logo
Neo, what do you think about me doing the bones of the website and you doing the content? I imagine we would want a home page with news, info on the game, info on the team, contact etc.... Whatever else you can think of.

Ok well I'll try to get it started after the weekend. I'm moving this weekend so i don't expect to have much time to do any new songs or the site.
