Indie Game Challenge
Just like independent film makers and musicians are a vital part of their industries, independent gaming is an essential and driving part of the gaming industry. That's why we've partnered with The Guildhall at SMU, the nation’s most prestigious game development educational institution, and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, the premier worldwide organization for rewarding innovation in the game industry, to bring the Indie Game Challenge to independent game developers.
If you think your game has what it takes to be a hit, then enter it by October 1 in the Indie Game Challenge for a chance to pitch your game to top publishers, to network with industry icons in Las Vegas, and to be considered for a scholarship at The Guildhall at SMU. Plus, a Grand Prize of $100,000 will be awarded to the top two developers.

Re: Indie Game Challenge
Interesting. This could be something that we could really take advantage of. The only problem I see, is I am not sure how far we will be into development around that time. I think we could have a bit done, though. Or at least some sort of working demo to show off.
What does everyone else think?

Re: Indie Game Challenge
Wouldn't hurt to try. It could be motivation for getting stuff done. Although it would be dumb to rush it and sacrifice quality.

Re: Indie Game Challenge
Agreed. I am hoping we can get something in, even if it is just a short demo or something. I figure we will just play it by ear and see how far we get by then.

Re: Indie Game Challenge
My thoughts to a point. I figure trying to reach this goal would give us a timeline to shoot for. If we didn't feel confident in our product's quality by then we'd just keep working on it til another offer comes along or until we've finished.mcneely11 wrote:Wouldn't hurt to try. Re: Indie Game Challenge
Okay, though I'm not putting my name or effort into that yet. I want to focus on the site. No offense.

Re: Indie Game Challenge
You know, if this goes on again, maybe we could get something together for it this year. Announce it a bit earlier, and then encourage people to work together. Or, they could just use minigames that will be going in the final RPG here. Either way would be cool, fun, and a good way to gain experience and exposure to the public.

I agree with this, I will keep my eye open and see if something like this pops up again.
