Graphics and Character Art
Do we have a clear idea about how the art and graphics are going to be incorperated in this game? I'm assuming we have to include at least the following:
Full length character portraits.
Head and shoulders portraits.
City designs.
Dungeon designs.
Field/world design.
Can the programmers incorperate gif or jpeg art into the game? Or does it have to be rerendered first?
Do you prefer Photoshop-colored images or by hand (I use Prismacolor art markers)? And what about backgrounds?

City/Dungeon designs. EDIT: Vague. What do you mean specifically?
Field/world design. EDIT: Same as above
Re: Graphics and Character Art
Isn't whoever is doing the sprites going to need character reference art? Also I like the idea of seeing a character portrait when a character speaks. If there are going to be cities and dungeons, won't we need to know what the general look of them are?

Re: Graphics and Character Art
Yes, I will be able to create some rough drafts and what not for character art and dungeon designs soon. I am getting a tablet (hopefully within a week) which will allow me to work with those things a lot easier.
Re: Graphics and Character Art
By the way, I will be ordering my tablet within the next couple days. I am hoping I can get it before the weekend so that I have time over the weekend to draw up some rough sketches of some things.
Re: Graphics and Character Art
how will all of this size out when it comes to the sprites?
im assuming it will be a pc based game and also assuming that we are talking about a lookdown rpg.

Re: Graphics and Character Art
So, who all is the graphic artists here? I don't want my sprites to conflict with others that people have already done.

Re: Graphics and Character Art
Don't let my title fool you. Although I do graphics, it's mostly early concept and character sketches. My real job here is game scripting.
There's been some talk but no work done on sprites. I think people were waiting for Jirito's final color character portraits.

Re: Graphics and Character Art
Ok. I can just do them all as B&W while we wait, then just shade them in with their proper colors later. That'll set me ahead by alot for my work. With 7 characters, no monsters, no common people, and no weapons or character appearance changes, I really shouldn't take long to finish these.

Re: Graphics and Character Art
Ya, we really have no sprites done at the moment. Everything we are using is place holder. So, anything you get done would be greatly appreciated!
